Members were divided into 3 teams and the location divided into 3 zones. Each team spent approximately 45 minutes in each zone taking photo’s, video recordings and making notes on any audible or spiritual activity. All members experienced certain activity throughout the vigil to which we classify as paranormal. Below are brief details of the teams experiences and the comparisons between teams. Teams were not allowed to disclose any findings or sightings until the end of the vigil.

An apparition of a gentleman was seen on Platform 1 near to the emporium by Paul Wright & felt by Carole Bennett ,dressed in dark grey uniform, the date 1967 was heard and the name Albert, we can not confirm these are linked to the gentleman.

An apparition of a gentleman described as dressed in, again, a dark grey uniform was seen on Platform 2 not far from the water tower. This apparition was seen by David Vickers, Helen Vickers & Cara Bosustow. He appeared to be waiting near a carriage door, he then turned and looked up the station, he then disappeared. All team members believe the apparition to of been the spirit of a station master.

The apparition was witnessed at different times of the evening.

Throughout the vigil many presences of children were felt by all team members. Both Helen & Rebecca independently felt the presence of a little girl, aged 7 to 9, hanging around the shed located beyond the platform and water tower. The name Annabelle was sensed.

Paul Wright also felt the presence of a little girl throughout the whole of the vigil, it was as though she was following us around playing games.

Paul Wright , David, Carole & Eileen heard what was believed to of been a large trunk/case being dragged along Platform 1. This noise lasted for several seconds & was physically heard.

Whilst under the tunnel to the side of the museum both Carole & Paul Wright felt quite emotional and both reported sensing the presence of a lady and 2 children, possible accident or suicide. All team members felt an emotional drain in this zone.

On the vigil a line of carriages was situated on the far track leading out of the station, platform1, towards Rothley. Activity was witnessed on and around these carriages, although no access was allowed on the actual carriages. Both Paul’s felt that they were being watched by a lady sitting on carriage S4857 under the tunnel. David & Cara saw a light described as a gas lantern appear in a carriage window, the light remained there for approx 40 seconds. No logical explanation of the appearance & disappearance of the light could be found. The carriage was situated out of the station towards the furthest water tower.

All teams whilst on the main stairs leading down to the station felt and witnessed activity. David, Cara & Rebecca felt the presence of a lady in her late 30s early 40s. It was believed that this lady fell down the actual stairs resulting in severe injury. These are the feelings as interpreted. Cara reported being touched/tapped on the head whilst sitting on the stairs, it was as though someone had brushed past her with a bag or something similar as they walked down the stairs..

The gents toilet block was a very active place throughout the vigil. Helen & Paul Wright independently sensed a gentleman connecting to shoe shining , the name Arthur was given & the date 1937. The energy/presence felt quite at peace & content. However the another presence was also felt within the gents, especially near cubicle 3, this was very strong. Most members felt dizzy & nauseous whilst in the gents. Paul Wright, Cara & David felt as though they had been pushed to one side. Paul felt as though he had been punched on the shoulder & then a pressure pass through him. He felt sick & had had to leave the toilet block. Paul described the presence as a big build man possibly a fireman? Paul would not return into the gents again.

Many photo’s were taken throughout the evening showing light anomalies in all of the zones. 3 moving light anomalies were caught on video in the gents toilet.

All team members felt as though the evenings vigil went very well and all agreed that paranormal activity is present & did take place whilst at The Great Central Railway. The most exciting part of the vigil was the apparition of the gentleman witnessed by 2 teams on separate occasions on both platforms. Paul Wright returned to the station in daylight & took some pictures. A picture was taken of a photograph & a gentleman in the picture has been identified as the apparition seen.

We certainly will hopefully return next year for a further vigil.
